3D Print!

It's been busy around here at DT Robotics!  Since wrapping up our Kickstarter project for the Jog it! pendant I have been pondering what to tackle next.  Meanwhile the pendants keep selling almost as fast as I can find the free time to put them together and I am starting to realize a change needs to be made to them.

The big issue right now is how long it takes to machine the cases!  There is just something awesome about a pendant that is machined from a billet of plastic, but it is just to time consuming to keep producing them this way.

So I have decided to move to an injection molded plastic case.  I have been messing around with some different designs and here are some pictures of the 3d printed prototypes.

Lots of color choices!

Branded!
While I sort out the final design and funding to get the injection molded cases done, please feel free to download the models of the cases you see in the pictures above!  A link has been posted at the bottom of the Jog it! page.  I printed these with PLA with two shells, 100% infill at medium resolution on a Makerbot replicator 2.

Strain relief

This post is to help the kit builders who have finished machining their case.  This is how to strain relief is intended to work in the Jog it plastic case.

USB wiring on kit Jog it!

Here are some pictures of the correct way to connect the USB cable to the PCB for those of you that purchased kits.

You can push the wires through the top or the bottom, depending on how you make your case.  I have the cable strain relief features underneath the PCB on my case design, so I insert the wires through the bottom of the holes.

Website is live!

My goal at DT Robotics is to be an open source hardware company that is always innovating.

Because we always have a large number of projects going on at once a blog based website seems like the most appropriate place to keep you up to date with what we are doing!

Check back often! Updates will focus on our current projects, which as they are completed will be added to the product and webstore pages.

It's not all work and no play around here!  Watch for some just for fun stuff too!

Early bird pendants have shipped!

After a memorable trip to the local Post Office (that was a lof of small boxes to ballance in my arms on the way in!) the first 50 Jog it! pendants have shipped! They should start arriving in peoples mailboxes over the next few days.

Thanks to every one for being patient with me as I balance building pendants, shipping them out and updating this website with the open source files.

To get started using your Jog it! pendant check it out on the products page.
